Moravian Star

when I was little, my mom and I used to make moravian star christmas ornaments out of paper dipped in wax...



then recently I saw this somewhere(?), I thought it looked like a fun, creative take on it,
definitely going to revisit this origami and try to make one with ribbon to wear...

the diagrams don't give a sense of what the book actually looks like if you aren't familiar.
It is sort of jacob's ladder-esque and you keep folding it open back on itself to reveal 4 diff spreads.

I think it's just the kind of thing you need to see/make in real life.

Quilling

Literally every design blog has posted the work of Yulia Brodskaya this week.



However, I never saw any mention of quilling.
I wonder if any/many of the people that saw this work is familiar with it.
Back in high school I had a "quilling phase" where I made like a million different designs with the technique.
It is actually fairly easy to do with a little patience, more people should experiment with it...
