Bright things for a gloomy day...

So at work I was making some revisions on something, and the client said they wanted to try the type in "pistaccio green."

I made what I thought was pistaccio green and then remembered a post on colourlovers I was in love with the other week about the origin of colour names and their respective swatches.

I looked up "pistacio green" and was surprised to find that the colour I made was almost exactly the same.

...now this isn't a "kudos, me" moment!

maybe it's just my over-fascination with visual perception, but it just amazes me how a person can say they want a very specific colour to someone else with no visual reference, and then the other person makes it how they "think" it should look like, and it is the EXACT same without any further effort between the two people.

Sneak preview,

Confused/Uniqlo

I am kind of in love with the design of the Uniqlo Papers, so I frequently check the store to see if the 4th edition is out yet. Racked says it comes out May 12th, but a comment on the post says they are already out?

I need it asap!!!

Speaking of uniqlo, while overall I am not a fan of their clothes (they never fit and are kind of blah), for the past several weeks I have caught myself running (literally) late to class, and passing ads for a new batch of uniqlo tshirts, and it dawned on me today that I should probably just buy this shirt and walk to class instead.

Failures/Disorders of Attention and Perception

I was printing out some slides from my Visual Perception and Cognition class,
apparently at the exact same time as some guy was trying to print out stickers.
Soo.. my first page of slides printed out on sticker paper! When I read the slide
title and realized the irony, and since it was perfect moleskin width... my sketchbook got a title.

this was in a design book at work that I was looking at for inspiration and i thought it was so lovely!

I should learn calligraphy this summer!
