Gabriel Orozco

"I want to disappoint the expectations of the one who waits to be amazed"

“I concentrate on reality in terms of what is happening to me and I try to revolutionize that and try to rethink it and transform it. I try to transform reality with it’s own rules, with the things I found there.”

Gabriel Orozco's retrospective is currently on view at MoMA through March 1st.

Matrin Kippenberger Retrospective at MoMA

Go see it!

I saw the members preview of it last week, but now it is open to the public.
I wasn't overly familiar with his work before, but it was definitely a show worth seeing.
Kind of amazing that such diverse work was all made by the same person.

this installation part by him is separate from the exhibit on the top floor.

To put it quite simply.

This looks like it would be amazing.

An exhibition called 'Sea Creatures in Glass' at the Harvard Museum of Natural History.
The glass sculptures were created by Leopold Blaschka and Rudolph Blaschka (father/son) in the 1800's.
These same guys who were commissioned by the Harvard to make their Glass Flowers gallery.

now to actually motivate myself to visit cambridge...

perfect timing

I didn't really think much of this the first time I saw it, but now I think it's definitely grown on me.
The sentence is revealed only at a specific moment when all of the clocks synchronize.
