I want these so bad.

Hakusan Porcelain Teacups
I saw them first at Pearl River.

Also, this was just on Computerlove. I think they are just called
They have some interesting work. And their site is set up pretty cool too, very different.

I am back home...

in cleveland. This is my first access to internet in several days, I have many things to post, but I'll do it later.
For now I just have to post this photographer, now that I found out who she is.
(I've wondered ever since I loved her photoshoot for NYLON a while back, but I lost the issue to find out)
Her name is Alexandra Carr.

love it.

The Visual Work of Scott Hansen.

[the audio on the site is pretty great too]

Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Typeface by Michael Bierut
I just ordered a bunch of his books of critcal writing about design.
They should be interesting reads for this summer.

my first youtube video.

It's a downer...

I had to put my video on youtube for my CD class, so, why not post a link here?
I think this is the first mini film/video I've ever made & actually thought about.
I didn't pick out the poem or the location (Greenwood Cemetary in Brookyln),
I chose it from a list my teacher gave us.

I really hate it when people call typefaces, "fontfaces."
Every time I hear it I throw up a little bit in my mouth.
Please just say fonts or typefaces.

Wasting time with no homework due tomarrow.

Why aren't there children's bookstores like this, here?
This is Kids Republic, an awesome children's bookstore in Beijing.
Wow, I am so going there this summer!

This set 26 organizational furniture would be perfect for my new apartment I'm moving to in a few days!
I wish they sold them in the US!
They don't look too hard to make though, so maybe this could be a fun little summer project!

I got excited today when I was in Universal News flipping through a magazine
and I saw an ad for a collaboration with Fafi for Adidas.
When I got home I went to their website to see the stuff....

I was very dissapointed,
as I am with almost every other attempt I have ever seen to put fafi illustrations onto clothing.
I think she should just stick to walls and canvases from now on...

p.s. How did i not know about this sooner???
Total Eclipse of the Heart

This has nothing to do with anything.

I am at Rolling Stone right now, and they are making me collect images from this site.
It is making me want to gouge out my eyes and projectile-vomit.
Now you too can have this pleasure-filled experience...

p.s. I think it should be renamed or something to that effect.

Sometimes I think I have OCD, but usually i just tell myself I'm an anal perfectionist.
It's only OCD if it starts to interrupt you daily life right?
Well, today has been one of those days that makes me wonder.

I was all done with my typography newsletter @ about 10am this morning, or so I thought...
13 hours later, and I am still moving the same tiny text box back and forth about 1/4".
This has been severely disruptive to my life today to say the least.

Last semester a teacher said to me,
"Wow, you are obsessive compulsive... but that's what's going to make you a great designer someday!"
I can only hope.

I guess the only other good part about my "tendencies," are that I can get as much enjoyment out of the
same 3-minute-long song after having it on repeat for 7 hours, as I did the first time.
(this time it is Cake's "Love You Madly," and it's still goin strong as I type this.)

p.s. My friend showed me this book today that she bought at MOMA...

It doesn't look horribly exciting from the cover, and the inside layout of it isn't either,
but, it has some really great stuff in it! I should probably buy it.

So I was just checking up on some of the design blogs I commonly frequent, one of which is the design observer, and they had this random entry about cape cod potato chips. it has nothing to design, but it is very funny, so i just wanted to repost it.

100 best typefaces...

It's in German, but typefaces have the same names everywhere so its ok!
For the most part I'd say I agree with the list, not necessarily in terms of personal preference or usage,
but I agree with the recognition of their importance or prevalence,
I would have changed some of the order though (Frutiger would most def not have been my #3).

I have so many things that I want to post...however, it is finals week so I cannot let myself spend 3 hours doing so.
Hopefully it wont be too much longer till I can!

Okay, just one more thing...I like some of this guy's (Boris Schandert) work,
and he has a free font download on his page of this triangle font...
