Misc.

Saw this, thought of myself.
For better and worse,
what a blessing and curse.

I really like this guy's website. There are so many different parts to discover.
And it is clean, organized and highly functional, just like I love it.

So 2 weeks ago Flickr started this amazing thing for pro accounts, "Stats, stats, baby!"
>
If you request your stats they will crunch all these crazy numbers for you. They chart and graph stuff like your daily aggregated views, view counts by photos, photo streams, sets & collections, your most viewed photos today and all time, what sites referred people to your photos, and a breakdown of your photos like tagged/not tagged, in sets/not in sets, with views/without views, etc.

Pretty interesting in my opinion. Turns out my flickr is more popular than I thought, and by popular I don't mean to imply it is on any grand scale, the fact that anyone other than myself even looks at it amazes me. haha

And apparently this photo is one of my more popular photos. The reason, is beyond me.

Daft Punk's Electroma

If you like artsy, pretentious films...
with no dialog and long periods of awkward silence...
where almost nothing happens beyond really really long walks across the desert...
where only half the audience is left by the end of it,
Well, this ones for you.

Also, if you wanted to see this movie because you like Daft Punk's music...
Dont. There isn't any in it.

I guess at the very least it was pleasant visual experience.

hahaaa...ouch.

I swear we're not all like that.
But I can't say there isn't a reason that I left.

Procrastination.

So because it is midnight, and I have over 30 pages worth of essays to write by 10am tomarrow,
I am looking at design sites instead, naturally.

These eye photos are so amazing...

And these chairs are pretty cool, even though they aren't all that practical.
They was designed by Emmanuelle Moureaux and were exhibited at 100% Design Tokyo.
Heres an article about it on dezeen.

That is all.

Amazing!

Hello World The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over The Lazy Dog!

Awesome work by Dess.
They're Japanese. figures.
Their site is pretty great too. It wins my award for the best site loader ever, even though I think it's just an animation.

Love this photographer...

I swear its not only because of gemma ward.

Gilles-Marie Zimmermann photography

look at this...

so called"2007 graphic design inspirations.".
Try not to get a migrane from all the maximalist design and overuse of photoshop/illustrator to the extreme.
Sure these designers/artists/graphic artists are all very talented, but ENOUGH ALREADY!!!
Does this now explain my a love/hate relationship with design and recent craving of minimalism?!!!
The only thing I like on that page is this...

Sans the cobrasnake sticker...

I love this so much!

This is kinda cool too... that is as long as it was hand-painted?

imo...

it would be pretty great if everyone dressed like this:

I especially love this girl's pants!
I found this photo on beckermans myspace page, so I am assuming the clothes are of their design?
But even if they aren't I am still completely in love with their Spring 2008 "passport to coney island" collection.
Go to their site and check it out!

This is so fun!

Pocky's website has a "Pocky Board" where you can create pictures and words out of different flavoured pocky sticks!
It is interactive with other users that are on the site at the same time so you can all fight over the yummy pocky hehe.

Just a warning...but most likely any attempt to make an english letter
will be turned into a Japanese character .2 seconds after making it.

Yay I can't wait to go!

The New Museum of Contemporary Art opens next week (Dec 1st!). It was designed by Japanese architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa of SANAA. I love most of the architecture by SANAA, & from the photos this building looks pretty cool, I don't know how I feel about the aluminum mesh though, could make or break it...I guess I'll decide when I see it for real.

Yet another mind-blowing Japanese designer...

His name is Masahiko Sato.
He did this amazing intro to Issey Miyake's site...

Made this sweet video...

And his website is really sick too!

Sooo...a long time ago I said I wanted to have all these crazy balloons for my next birthday.
But now my friend showed me this idea so now it can be ever better!!! Put LEDs inside
some of the balloons! Seriously, how amazing would that be?!!!

......................................................................................................................................................

P.S. off the same site as the lamp... How sick is this phone?!!!!

......................................................................................................................................................

This site is pretty and their work is pretty great too! Studio Aad

Marimekko has so many beautiful new prints!!!

And these 2 aren't Marimekko but are also nice, the first is designed by Anna Sorensson,
and the second is braile fabric designed by SALDO Ljungbergs.
